Alaqua and Alaqua Lakes are the gated golf-course estate communities off Markham Woods Road in Longwood, in the wooded corridor between Wekiva and Lake Mary. The homes are large, on acre-plus lots under mature live oaks and pines, with long Mediterranean and traditional rooflines, circular drives and pool lanais facing the golf course. They are about twenty minutes from our Apopka shop on Wekiva Springs Road, closer than most of Orlando, and they are the estates we can serve fastest.

An Alaqua design is built around two things: a long, complex roofline and enormous oaks. The roofline takes warm white C9 bulbs traced along every hip, ridge and dormer, with the entry columns and arches wrapped and a wreath on the main gable, and because the houses sit back from the street, the drive gets stake lighting or wrapped entry posts so the display reads from the road. The oaks get trunk-and-limb wraps that take a lift and a second crew member and are worth every minute. Golf-course lots often add the rear roofline and the lanai so the house shows from the fairway.

Both communities are gated and require a certificate of insurance and vendor registration, and their guidelines set display windows for install and January takedown that we schedule inside. Installs on estates of this size can take most of a day, so we confirm the date and crew size when we quote. Everything runs on a dusk timer, maintenance is free all season with service usually the next day given how close we are, and takedown and storage are included.
