Christmas Light Installation in Merritt Island, FL

Merritt Island is the long barrier island between the Indian River and the Banana River across the causeway from Cocoa, with the Kennedy Space Center at its north end and a grid of canal-front homes with docks and boat lifts through its middle, plus older neighborhoods along Courtenay Parkway and the quieter acreage lots of North Merritt Island. It is about seventy minutes from our Apopka shop and sits on our Space Coast route with Cocoa and Rockledge.

On a canal home the display faces two ways. We light the street-facing roofline in warm white C9 bulbs and then carry it to the rear: the water-side roofline, the dock, the boat lift and the seawall, so the house reads from the canal when the neighborhood's boat parade goes by. Palms line nearly every yard and spiral wraps on queen palms and lit sabal trunks are standard. Salt air and river wind are hard on lights, so we hang sealed-socket commercial LED strands with wind-rated clips and replace any strand that fails at no charge all season.

Canal streets on Merritt Island tend to decorate as a group because the boat parade judges them as a group, and that works in your favor: when three or four docks on one canal book the same day we bring the boat-side crew once and split the trip cost across all of them. The lights are on a photocell so they come up at dusk without anyone flipping a switch, a strand knocked out by wind is replaced on our next pass, and everything comes down in January and rides back to Apopka in our truck.
