Christmas Light Installation in DeLand, FL

DeLand is the county seat of Volusia and one of the best-preserved small downtowns in Florida, with a brick-paved Woodland Boulevard that lights up for the holidays and a historic district of two-story frame houses around Stetson University that dates to the 1880s. Outside the core are the golf-course streets of Victoria Park, lakefront homes around Lake Winnemissett, and the rural oaks of Glenwood. We reach DeLand from Apopka in about forty-five minutes on SR 46 and I-4 and run it with DeBary and Orange City on west Volusia route days.

Historic DeLand homes reward a different approach from the stucco two-stories we see elsewhere. Deep wraparound porches take lit garland along the rails and around the columns, gables get wreaths, and warm white mini lights in the porch ceiling and along the trim do more than a C9 roofline would. Where a roofline works, we use clips suited to wood fascia and metal roofs and never fasten into painted trim. Victoria Park and the newer communities off Orange Camp Road are conventional two-story homes with palms at the entry, and there the design is both rooflines outlined, columns wrapped and palms spiraled. Lakefront homes on Lake Winnemissett often add dock lighting.

West Volusia route days run two or three times a week from late October through November, and DeLand homes are grouped by neighborhood so several can be installed in one trip. Everything runs on a dusk timer, maintenance is free all season, and we return in January for takedown and storage. Stetson-area rentals and second homes get completion photos and manager coordination.
