Ormond Beach is the residential city north of Daytona Beach, split by the Halifax River into a beachside of cottages and canal homes and a mainland of golf communities like Plantation Bay, Hunters Ridge and Ormond Lakes, with a historic district around The Casements and Granada Boulevard. It is about seventy-five minutes from our Apopka shop and the northern end of our coastal route, which we run on dedicated days from late October through November.

Beachside and riverfront Ormond homes get sealed-socket commercial LED strands and wind-rated clips, because the salt air off the ocean and the river ruins retail lights in weeks, and anything that fails during the season is replaced free. Palms are everywhere and a spiral-wrapped queen palm or a row of lit sabal trunks is the signature look, with a warm white C9 roofline behind. Riverfront homes on the Halifax often add dock and seawall lighting. Plantation Bay and Hunters Ridge are gated golf communities with two-story rooflines and display windows we schedule inside.

Ormond is the top of our coastal loop, so we typically start the day there and work south, and a street in Plantation Bay or on the beachside that books together gets first pick of those morning slots. Nothing about the distance changes what you get: a dusk timer, repairs at no charge when the ocean wind takes a strand, and a January visit to remove and store the whole display.
