Windsong is the gated estate community in southeast Winter Park, built in the 2000s on former grove land between Lake Mizell and Lake Berry, near Rollins College and the Winter Park chain of lakes. The homes are large and traditional, in Georgian, Mediterranean and Southern styles, on lakefront and interior lots with young oaks and mature palms, and the community keeps a high standard for exteriors. It is about thirty minutes from our Apopka shop and sits on our Winter Park route with Olde Winter Park and Baldwin Park.
Windsong homes have symmetrical, formal rooflines that carry a warm white C9 outline beautifully: every eave, gable and dormer traced, the entry columns wrapped, garland over the door and a wreath on the main gable. Lakefront homes on Lake Mizell and Lake Berry usually light the rear elevation, the lanai and the dock so the house reads from the water and from the Winter Park boat tour route. Palms by the drive get spirals, and the young oaks along the streets take a trunk wrap that is filling in more every year.
The community requires a certificate of insurance and gate registration, and its guidelines set display windows for install and January takedown, which we follow. Installs run from mid October through the week before Thanksgiving, everything runs on a dusk timer, maintenance is free all season, and we return in January for takedown and storage. Windsong fills early on our Winter Park route, so September bookings get first choice of dates.
