Lake County is our second home. Apopka sits on the Orange–Lake line, so Sorrento and Mount Dora are closer to our shop than downtown Orlando is. We run the SR 46 and US 441 corridor constantly during the season, from the lakefront Victorians of Mount Dora to the hilltop subdivisions of Clermont and Minneola, and up through Eustis, Tavares, Leesburg and Lady Lake toward The Villages.

Nowhere else in Central Florida does downtown set the bar like Mount Dora, whose December light-up draws visitors from across the state. Homeowners in the historic district and around Lake Gertrude want displays that keep up with downtown, which usually means warm white roofline runs with garland on porches and columns. South Lake is a different landscape: Clermont and Minneola homes sit on real hills with long sight lines, so a lit roofline is visible from a quarter mile away and a wrapped oak or palm at the driveway anchors the whole lot.

North Lake has a lot of lakefront and larger acreage properties around Eustis, Tavares and Umatilla. Those often call for lighting the dock, a boathouse gable or a long driveway with stake lighting in addition to the house. Leesburg, Fruitland Park and Lady Lake bring a mix of retirement communities and established neighborhoods where the request is almost always the same: no ladders, no storage totes, a beautiful roofline and someone else to deal with it in January.
