Orange City is the small west Volusia town between DeBary and DeLand on US 17-92, best known as the gateway to Blue Spring State Park, where manatees gather every winter. Its historic district along Graves Avenue and Volusia Avenue has Victorian and Craftsman homes under enormous live oaks, and around it are 1970s and 80s ranch neighborhoods off Saxon Boulevard and newer streets toward Lake Helen. We reach Orange City in about forty minutes from Apopka and run it with DeBary and Deltona.

Historic Orange City homes call for the porch-and-garland treatment: lit garland on rails and columns, wreaths on gables, warm white mini lights in the porch ceiling and along the trim, with a C9 roofline where the roof allows it. The live oaks are the other half of the design; a trunk-and-limb wrap on the big oak in front turns the whole yard into the display. Ranch homes off Saxon Boulevard are simpler, with a single roofline run and a wreath, and lots are big enough for a wrapped tree or lit shrubs to carry the yard. There are few HOAs, so timing is flexible.

Orange City installs run on west Volusia route days two or three times a week from late October through November, grouped by neighborhood so several homes can be lit in one trip. Everything is on a dusk timer, maintenance is free all season, and takedown and storage happen in January.
