Auburndale is the small city between Lakeland and Winter Haven in the middle of Polk County, surrounded by lakes, with an old downtown, mid-century neighborhoods on Lake Ariana and Lake Arietta, and the newer estate community of Water Ridge on the hills above Lake Juliana. It is about an hour from our Apopka shop down I-4 and runs on our Polk route with Lakeland and Winter Haven.

Lakefront Auburndale homes take a design that carries from the street-facing roofline in warm white or multicolor C9 bulbs to the rear elevation, the dock and the seawall so the house reads from the lake, with trunk wraps on the oaks along the shore. Water Ridge's larger homes have long rooflines, palms at the entry and a gate that requires a certificate of insurance, and get the full outline with wrapped columns and spiraled palms. Downtown-area homes are single-story on big lots and get a roofline run plus a wrapped tree.

We come through Auburndale on the same days we work Lakeland and Winter Haven, so the easiest way to keep the cost down is to book with a neighbor on your lake and let one trip cover both houses. The lights go on a photocell timer at dusk, a dark section is fixed at no charge with the next pass through Polk, and in January the crew comes back, takes everything down and hauls it to our Apopka warehouse until next season.
