Cross the Wekiva River on SR 434 from Apopka and you are in Wekiwa Springs, the unincorporated stretch of west Seminole County that people usually call Wekiva. It is ten minutes from our shop, which makes it one of the fastest addresses on our calendar for installs and service calls. The neighborhoods here, Sabal Point, Wekiva Hunt Club, Wekiva Cove and Springs Landing, were built in the seventies and eighties on wooded lots with heavy oak canopy, and the trees are as much a part of a Wekiva display as the roofline.

Most Wekiva homes are single or two-story with deep front setbacks and mature live oaks between the house and the street. That changes the design. A roofline alone can disappear behind the canopy, so we usually pair a warm white C9 outline with trunk wraps on the front oaks and a lit path along the driveway so the display reads from the road. Sabal Point and Wekiva Hunt Club have a lot of golf-course and cul-de-sac lots where neighbors light up together, and a whole loop lit in one style has become a Wekiva tradition on several streets. Springs Landing and The Springs sit behind gates and require a certificate of insurance, which we send the same day.

Because Wekiva is so close to the shop, we can be flexible in ways that matter here. Want the lights up in October but not turned on until after Thanksgiving? We set the timer and come back to flip it. A section knocked loose by an afternoon storm? We are usually there the next morning. And when a squirrel decides a strand looks tasty, a common Wekiva problem with all those oaks, replacing it is free like any other service call. Takedown happens in the first weeks of January and everything goes back to our warehouse.
